Trafficking & prostitution are rampant in Nepal.

Safeworld Field Partner, RUWON Nepal, recently held a two-day workshop to raise awareness of the issue, in partnership with the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women - Asia Pacific.

Funding from Austria helps Nepalese students.

RUWON Nepal has been working in the partnership with DKA Austria to teach children and youth in Nepal about their rights and gender equality issues.

Safe World Field Partner in Nepal, RUWON, is launching a project with school and college students through children's clubs in schools and youth clubs in college.

RUWON has found girls to be particularly responsive. In a recent leadership skills course, 23 of the 33 students were girls:

"Girls are really interested in politics and social development.

They are ready to face any kind of challenge and opportunity for leadership because they have  negative feelings regarding the male role in the society.

They say, the country is not developed due to lack of equal opportunities between men and women."
