
Rural Women’s Network Nepal (RUWON) began in 2007, is an autonomous non-governmental social organisation actively initiated by well-known personalities for decades in the fields of women’s, youth's and children's rights and social justice in Nepal.
We work mainly in Kathmandu Valley and in Sindhuli district, in the eastern part of Nepal.
In Sindhuli district where people faced the ten years conflict (1996-2006), we have thirty five women's micro-saving groups. We have launched women's literacy programmes in different communities in Sindhuli district.
General Secretary is Mr. Dhruba Prasad Ghimre.
To build a strong link with organizations worldwide RUWON Nepal has international promoters located in different parts of the world. They have the authority to inform about RUWON's work for human rights, women, youth, children, peace and democracy and to develop relations with partner organizations and link with donors.
Rebecca Shilo Curren, Australia
Rebecca comes from Australia. She is dedicated and interested to promote RUWON Nepal internationally since she worked/volunteered for the organization in 2011. Rebecca is a qualified Social Worker, with experience in Family and Children Services in Australia, including Child Protection, and NGO Indigenous organizations. She has the authority to deal with donors, volunteers and partner organizations with in Australia and New Zealand.
Alexandra Delaney, UK
Alexandra comes from UK. She is dedicated and interested to promote RUWON Nepal internationally since she worked for the organization during 2010. She has visited and volunteered for NGO's in UK, India and Nepal. She has the authority to deal with donors, volunteers and partner organizations all over UK and Ireland.
Jonna Wiklund, Sweden
Jonna comes from Sweden. She is dedicated and interested to promote RUWON Nepal internationally since she worked for the organization during 2010. She has visited and volunteered for NGO's in Sweden, Cambodia, Tanzania and Nepal. She has the authority to deal with donors, volunteers and partner organizations from all Scandinavian countries. (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland).
Echo Zhang, China
Echo comes from China. She is dedicated and interested to promote RUWON Nepal internationally since she worked for the organization during 2010. She has volunteered in RUWON Nepal's Women literacy school in Kathmandu. She has the authority to deal with donors, volunteers and partner organizations in China.

RUWON Nepal supports women from excluded and marginalized communities and also disadvantaged regions, so as to achieve sustainable and equitable development through social inclusion, advocacy, and empowerment mechanisms.
