EACO Staff and volunteers
Empower and Care Organization (EACO) was founded in 2004 at the community level and was registered as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2006.
EACO was established to address the limited educational and economic opportunities that exist for vulnerable groups of women and children in Mukono County and Maracha District.
EACO is located on Kayunga Road in Ggulu A Kitete, a rural village located within Mukono Town Council, Mukono County, Mukono District, Central Uganda Region.
The community in which EACO is situated is largely rural, with most people making very low incomes through agricultural activities.
The district of Mukono covers an area of 12, 438km?. There are a total of 143 registered schools within this district.

Chair Person: The Chair Person is responsible for the planning, coordination and effective implementation of the organization’s programs. She also leads the staff and volunteers in mobilizing resources. Additionally, the Chair Person is responsible for the general monitoring of projects and the preparation of donor reports.
Project Coordinator: The Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day implementation and planning of activities and documenting information on activity progress. He also liaises with project beneficiaries, crafts project timelines for each beneficiary, coordinates and supervises trainers and volunteers, prepares reports to the Chair Person and donors as required and contributes in the preparation of grant proposals.
Accountant: The Accountant is responsible for the financial management and administration of project funds. He ensures that organizational funds and resources are appropriately, effectively and efficiently used. The Accountant is also responsible for regular financial monitoring and the production of financial reports, enabling the Chair Person and Board of Directors to make financial decisions.
Trainer/Counselor: The Trainer/Counselor is responsible for organizing training and counseling programs with project beneficiaries. She is also responsible for recruiting and coordinating contractors for Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS trainers and for preparing activity reports.
Secretary: The Secretary answers incoming phone calls, takes minutes during meetings, supervises the dispatch and filing of incoming and outgoing mail and assists in the preparation of program documents and progress reports.
Office Messenger: The Office Messenger manages office stationery and equipment for the organization, ensures project equipment remains functional and clean, manages and keeps an inventory of the organization’s storehouse, collects, sorts and delivers mail, acquires supplies and materials as needed and performs additional duties as assigned.

EACO is situated in the Mukono District in central Uganda. The organisation works with vulnerable women, particularly widows and those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as vulnerable children, youth, and the elderly.
