Kids-That-Care-Awareness-Event

Kids That Care Club advocates for the improvement of educational programs for Deaf children and disadvantaged girls in the Sub Sahara. We actively support the Deaf community by educating the general public about the need to have sign language recognized as the language of the Deaf.

We participate in events that promote social justice, education for all and the empowerment of women.  Our work extends into the educational sector by educating American youth about the lack of services available to children in developing countries.

School Programs

Kids That Care Club was developed to advocate for quality education for all. Our series of lesson plans are designed to be incorporated into the daily curriculum in a variety of classes, such as social studies, geography, environmental studies, social justice, science and more.

Programs are divided into school aged groups: Elementary School, Middle School, High School and College.

Did you know? Educational Series

Our new "Did you know? Educational Series" covers a wide diversity of subjects, including:

  • What is HIV/AIDS?
  • Water & Sanitation
  • Ebola Outbreak
  • What's it like to be Deaf?
  • Malaria No More

and others.

These lesson plans can be used in your daily curriculum or as a stand alone project for your after school Community Service Group. Your students will learn about life in Africa and understand how similar yet different cultures can be in various regions around the world.

KTCC School Book Bags

We have developed a Kids That Care Club (KTCC) Collapsible Book Bag that is easy to make and is the perfect way to give school supplies to the students in the Congo.
These children live in extreme poverty and most likely have never received any school supplies in their life. Imagine living on less than $1.00 a day and having to walk for miles to get to school.
Our book bag will be a great gift, plus it will have new pencils, a sharpener, a notebook and a welcome card designed by you!

Kids That Care Club (KTCC) is a division of St. Mary Crucifissa di Rosa Academies, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

St. Mary Crucifissa di Rosa lived in the 1800's in Italy. In 1836, St. Mary di Rosa brought in impoverished girls to give them an education and founded a school for deaf children. St. Mary di Rosa lived her life caring for the sick and the poor - particularly young ladies.

We selected St. Mary di Rosa for the name of our non-profit corporation as she personifies all that we wish to achieve. We believe that all children deserve an education and equal rights.

St. Mary di Rosa Academies' principles of charity, social justice and equity in education are the foundation of our Corporate Values.

It is the vision of Saint Mary di Rosa Academies that deaf children be given access to communication utilizing sign language and that impoverished girls from the rural communities be motivated to learn numeracy, literacy, problem solving, cognitive reasoning and life skills.

School

St. Mary di Rosa is building a new school in Brazzaville, Congo. We have the approval to build and now require funding to begin the construction/planning process. We anticipate launching the planning process by late 2015 or early 2016.

Our school will provide the following:

1) An elementary school program for Deaf children that uses the Bilingual Bicultural (BiBi) method

2) A high school program for girls, as well as courses using computer technology, and 3) A 2 year career development program that will offer practical courses in business administration, digital graphics and design, office skills, and medical assistant.  These classes will give the young women employable skills and opportunities to work in a career of their choice.
