Working behind-the-scenes

You will need to be self-motivated with a strong interest in women’s rights, advocacy and technology.

You will enjoy a fast-paced, challenging and creative working environment.

Our global website uses a widely available open source CMS system. It is designed and managed by the Safe World IT team.

Tasks include:

• Assisting the Safe World News Team and updating the website.
• Operating a Content Management System - Joomla.
• Researching additional technologies.
• Helping develop websites for our Field Partners - grassroots organisations throughout the world. Many have no websites and those who have websites often need help in presentation and design.
  
  

You will work under direct supervision of Operations Manager and will sometimes be required to assist other members of the various Safeworld teams.

As with all roles, you will need to have good communication skills and enjoy cooperating with a global, multicultural team of women and men.

And you need to be passionate about sharing our vision, mission and ethos!

Prerequisites:

• Skype
• Ability to participate in teleconferences.
• Experienced and literate with HTML and CSS; preferably familiarity with Joomla.
• Either fluent in English or English as a first language.
• Familiarity with other programming language an advantage.
• A basic understanding of databases preferred, but not essential.
