Villagers from a remote district in Kashmir say that two decades after mass rape and other abuses by members of the army, justice still has not been served.

Late last year, the State Human Rights Commission directed the government to reopen the case, which international bodies say received insufficient investigation.

A little over 20 years ago when Kashmir was burning in insurgency and desperate security forces were trying to douse the fire, army soldiers allegedly gang-raped over 30 women at Kunan Poshpora village in Kupwara district.

Twenty years on, the villagers of Kunan Poshpora still await justice.
