RUWON Nepal / ALiVE Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

By Dhruba Prasad, General Secretary, RUWON Nepal, Kathmandu

Nepal is in a moment of crisis: we need your support to help victims!

On Saturday, 25th April, a 7.8 magnitude quake struck an area between the capital, the city of Kathmandu, and the city of Pokhara. It is still quaking; we have faced 40+ additional small and normal quakes. Still we are not safe. Experts say, there is a high possibility for a bigger quake to return within 72 hours.

According to various national news resources and home ministry information, till now, we have lost 1,909 people; 4423 people are injured in different parts of Nepal. The situation is not safe. Because of that reason, so many places fell down and buildings have not been cleared. Many lost and injured people are still out of contact.

The next problem is that internet and mobile phone communications are erratic, with many roads closed due to quake damage.

Rural Womens Network Nepal (RUWON Nepal) and Association for Living Values Education Nepal (ALiVE Nepal) have jointly set up a relief fund to support the earthquake victims for medical treatment, food, clean water, hygiene products, fuel and shelter.

Please help us from your heart in this crisis, for the victims of earthquake.

Updates are published on the RUWON Nepal Facebook Page.
